- Color Plotter Configuration
After running the installer on the AutoCAD Color Plotter Drivers
file (available at encad,
follow these steps to configure AutoCAD 14 to make color.PLT
files for Reproductions, Inc.
1. Start AutoCAD 14
2. At the Command Prompt, type CONFIG
3. Select New (to enter a new plotter configuration)
4. Choose Encad Inkjet Plotters RTL V6.0 ADI 4.3 (C) ENCAD,
Inc.
5. Add Description for Plotter: Enter Repro Color
6. From the supported models menu, choose Cadjet 2 36
7. Choose defaults until you reach, "Do you want to change
anything?"
YES
8. "Do you want to change any of the above parameters?" -
NO
9. Choose defaults until you reach "Write the plot to
a file?" - YES
10. Choose defaults until you reach "Enter the Size or
Width, Height (in
Inches) <MAX>:" 48,36
11. Select the defaults until the end and click OK to save.
12. Type ENCONFIG

13. On the Plotter tab, select Repro Color
14. Click the Paper Button, then change the paper size to Arch
E
36.0x48.0 and click OK. Under Usage, select the Save Paper and
Expanded Margins options. Leave Paper Source on Roll. Select
OK to return to the previous configuration page.
15. Across from the Control button, change Quality to Enhanced.
16. Select OK to exit this menu. Save the configuration as Cadjet2.
When generating a plot file be sure to select the Repro Color
set-up and then adjust your plotting parameters as normal (additional
parameters, scale & sheet size).
If you are plotting EXTENTS, make sure that you perform a ZOOM
EXTENTS prior to creating the .PLT file to ensure AutoCAD updates
the extents and to double check for any stray lines that could
affect your output.
CAUTION: The pens in a color plot must be set to the desired
thickness, as we cannot modify their settings after the plot
file is generated.
It is recommended to do a Full Preview in the Plot Window to
verify the DWG size, placement on page and that the plot looks
correct.
