Digital Doors: Adapting to Change

At the Technology for Construction show in January, a panel of owners discussed what they are looking for in construction and how this has changed. There is increasing concern about costs over the entire lifecycle of a building - not merely the construction phase. Since operating and maintaining a building consists of 60 - 85% of the total life cycle cost, this concern is understandable – unless the owner intends to sell the building as soon as it is constructed!

One panel member stated, “Think value first, not cost. And value equals benefit divided by cost.”

In general owners are demanding faster construction and fewer errors. One of the technologies mentioned prominently was the need to collaborate and maintain usable data from beginning to end of the lifecycle. Use our expertise to make sure your data is valid, and maintained in a format that makes it usable for many years to come.
