Tech Tack: Internet Usage

A study by a Stanford research group concludes that 75% of Americans now have access to the internet and that the average American internet user spends three hours a day online.

This time online definitely affects how much time is spent in other activities. On average, the internet user spends 23 fewer minutes in face-to-face interaction, 10 minutes less watching tv, and 8.5 minutes less sleeping.

57% of time online is for communications – email, IM, and chat rooms. 34.3% is for web browsing and shopping. 8.7% is for online game playing. On average, users spend 14 minutes each day dealing with computer problems!

How do you spend your time compared to the ‘average’? As a professional you probably skew those averages way up!
